I dunno but my ex husband is with acronyms like Lex is with bad grammar. My ex if you say ATM Machine has a brain hemorrhage. If you say on an old dot matrix printer that FF stands for Fast Forward and not Form Feed blood spews out every orifice of his body and it just goes on like that.

If I REMEMBER BACK TO THAT FIRST DAY HERE, It was viewed as REALLY WAVY,, when A reporter for the Pig Belly Post, William fartbottom,,(old Stinky butt)we use to call him. Used the initals of U-nited, S-tates, of A-merica. As a front page Article pertaining to import trade arriving by Sea, on the Kings III Ship, Back in 1890. ENGLISH SHIPS ARRIVING HERE IN THE U.S.A. Then soon we started to shorten MANY long spelled words. It,,,use to be called,,,,THAT I-DIOT, RIGHT T-HERE. And was,use to be called,W-rong A-ddress,S-illy. And NO,,,,use to be, N-ever,O-ver. Someone should go back and find them all and do a BOOK,,

I have little patience with people who overuse acronyms. I don't mind lol used sparingly, or others such as brb or ttyl. But, when someone punctuates sentences with lol, it's a bit much. And when they abbreviate more words in a sentence than they actually type out? Way too much. Then again, I'm one of the few who actually spells out words in text messages.

I always spell out words in text messages. As I said in a previous post, my own mother uses far more acronyms than I do.
