What I do not like is that he is a libertarian and if america is to be a just society I dont see that happeneing for the vast majority of americans if he gets elected. I admire his courage because he has made himself an enemy of the real powers of this country. The banksters, the military industrial establishment, The CIA, FBI, NSA and the rest of the alphabet organizations that have a vested interest in creating the american police state. I do think he is the best republican candidate out there, he is a republican in the traditional sence and not one of those 1% candidates republicans have been running for decades. If he beats the odds and wins out my fear is all the elites will allow him to accomplish is to dismantal the government agencies that provide reliefe to those in need along with social security. I realisticly think he will have little luck against the fed and the other vested interests. |

Sounds like Ron Paul just got the Colbert Bump.
I am an independent and really like Ron Paul too. He is for power to the people. Less Federal government and more state government which actually gives people the right to vote and not someone in Washington. |

amazing how many Liberals are flocking to Ron Paul! What gives? Do you think that liberals are wrong about everything? That just because liberals like something, it can't be trusted? The party-line liberals hate RP just as much as the party-line conservatives do. Its the more independently minded of both parties that as more open to him. As far as your question: amazing how many Liberals are flocking to Ron Paul!
What gives? Maybe they are disappointed in Obama. Maybe they are worried about our country's economic future, and realize we need to scale back our war mongering. Maybe things have gotten so bad with big government, invasions of privacy, and loss of liberty that some liberals are starting to care more about those issues than their beloved socialist programs. I've been skeptical of RP for a long time, but it seems that every week I just see more and more that I like about him, and more and more of what I dislike about everyone else. |

I'm a libertarian too, and I assure you, you have no reason to fear those of us in the libertarian spectrum. With a few exceptions, we support your right to do your own thing as long as you don't use force or fraud against others. I myself favor Misesian microsecession so anyone can be as free from government rule as they want to be. |

and.....If you guess his name he has to teach you how to spin hay into GOLD!! Herman Cain!! The ultimate Washington outsider!! FTW!! Cain is a former FED lackey. Doesn't get much more insider than that. I love satirical posts like yours! “I came here to praise one man,” Mr. Colbert said to the packed square, just minutes after belting out his own interpretation of the “Star-Spangled Banner.” “One Her-man. Important note: a her-man is not the same as a she-male. I don’t want to frighten off any Santorum supporters.” Beyond Rick Santorum, Mr. Colbert had one-liners for all the other GOP candidates still in the race. “I think people are hungry for a positive campaign,” he said. “I won’t be saying things like the only difference between Mitt Romney and a statue of Mitt Romney is that the statue never changes its position.… And it would be wrong to say that if you guessed Ron Paul’s real name, he has to teach you how to spin straw into gold. And I’m not going to answer the gotcha question, ‘Am I interested in an open marriage?’ Though I’m flattered that Newt Gingrich asked me.” Mr. Colbert staged the rally for a semi-important purpose: to poke fun at federal election laws that allow corporations and rich individuals to pour millions into campaign Super PACs. “And if anyone says that is a joke, then the entire campaign finance system is a joke, and I’ve been paid to be offended by that,” Mr. Colbert said. Taking up the line that corporations are people, Mr. Colbert said he was there to defend the civil rights of corporations. “I am the Martin Luther King of civil rights,” he said. “I am Lockheed Martin Luther Burger King.” He then made a jocular pitch for Mr. Cain, who dropped out of the race last month but remains on the South Carolina ballot. “Herman Cain is an outsider. In fact, he is such an outsider he is not running for president anymore.” http://blogs.wsj.com/washwire/2012/01/20/colbert-and-cain-rally-for-laughs-in-south-carolina/ |
