Mixing paint is different from seeing light. You SEE the house color. White is the combination of all colors (like the Sun). Black is the absence of any color (like deep space).

Not in chemistry it isn't. You cannot mix paint to create white... but you can mix the primarys and make a rude black. It is one of the foundations in basic art.

Only in the spectrum is black the absence of color. I already mentioned that above.

They reverse depending upon which form you are speaking of, chemical (pigments) or spectral (as light).

Some shade of blue. Or green.

But really, couldn't do one color. Definitely not white! Beige, tans would bother me. And no orange.

Actually it is (I used to write paint specifications.). Paint chemistry doesn't actually deal with color. It deals with the absorption of light which is why the mixing of paint has the opposite set of colors than what we see.

The only colors the human eye can actually perceive is what we see as light. White is seen as the ultimate bright color and black is not received at all.

When we look at a house, a tree, or someones lips, we see color and it is translated into all the memories and emotion our brains assign to that color. And all those colors are defined by light.

White paint is usually defined as the amount of titanium dioxide used as pigment as it has the ability to reflect all colors. Carbon black is used as a pigment to absorb all colors. Other metal oxides absorb other colors. So "absence" of color pigment does not apply to paint (it would just be clear).

My house is charcoal colored roofing tile and "touch of blue" siding with blue trim.happy
