Topic: Marines Urinating On Dead Terrorists | |
---|---|
Just goes to show you how totaly screwed up this country is. We invade a country for little or no reasone then urinate on those we murder.
Instead of outrage we have people who defend such a sick and twisted action. I am sure the parents of those marines are proud. Wonder why the rest of the world hates americans? See above |

Not the first time it happens.
http://www.smh.com.au/news/world/film-rolls-as-troops-burn-dead/2005/10/18/1129401256154.html Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ) Articles of the Uniform Code of Military Justice Sub Chapter X. Punitive Articles Art. 134. General article Though not specifically mentioned in this chapter, all disorders and neglects to the prejudice of good order and discipline in the armed forces, all conduct of a nature to bring discredit upon the armed forces, and crimes and offenses not capital, of which persons subject to this chapter may be guilty, shall be taken cognizance of by a general, special, or summary court-martial, according to the nature and degree of the offense, and shall be punished at the discretion of that court. Hopefully the Marines involved will be identified, charged and punished. |

The CID will identify, and prosecute, ANY Marine caught in ANY act not representitive to our proud traditions, heritage of service and uniform. Disipline and honor are two of the most valued standards of the USMC and its time honored service to our nation's defense. It is sad that like any large group, within it are those whose actions are not in keeping with proud traditions, but war changes people (and these are mostly teenage or young adults), and Marines are not trained to be girl scouts, which compounds the issue. Ron Paul is right! Police actions and aggressions are a whole different ball game than declared war. Values are lost, virtues are shattered, when the cause is not just or in defense of a specific action against our great nation, the lines of decency blur, honor is lost! |

Even in war there are rules....
they are put in place to keep us human. Seems we have bent or broken a lot of these war rules. I'm not sure which is worse... that we can't or won't follow the humanity rules or that society has come to accept and justify. "All's fair in love and war" |

Some of you seem to place this and other events completely out of context. The US soldiers are trained professionals who abide by the generally accepted rules of war such as the Geneva Convention. If an enemy soldier in uniform surrenders, they are taken as prisoner and treated with respect.
Terrorists are not uniformed soldiers. They mix with the population and murder, intimidate, and kill with subversion. They train small children to act as suicide bombers. They openly cut off heads of innocents and dance at the news of death of any westerner. The marine snipers kill the worst of the worst. They are doing the world a favor by helping rid the world of terrorists. They do not indiscriminately kill members of the local population and then piss on their bodies. They kill the ones who are killing the local population. Mixing apples and oranges makes for a poor argument. Those berating the marines for acting in this manner should reflect on what the terrorists do to marines and others when they get a chance. War is hell. In WWII the Germans generally abided by the Geneva Convention regarding uniformed soldiers (other atrocities aside) but the Japanese did not. Japan did not sign the treaty. This event is trivial in the overall horror of war. |

Geneva convention covers acts of war..... this is NOT a declared war, so actions fall into another catagory. Pride? Integrity? Ethics or morals?
Tell me that you would not use ANY means nessessary to protect AMERICA, if we were the ones being invaded! Many would enlist in armed services....but what if that option weren't available because the action was against an idea....NOT a nation or country! These fighters are "enemy combatants", soldiers in the closest sense of the term available to them! By your definition, if we as civilians had to defend OUR country or beliefs, other nations would have the right to judge US as terrorist.... who deserve to be pissed on! |

There seems to be a greater level of PTSD in the great sand box debacle than in others so before anyone rushes to judgement we should see what mental state these soldiers are in. |

Of course their mental state is not good...their at war! They still need to be held accountable for their choices just like the rest of us. Shall we let ALL criminals off the hook for temporary insanity? |

This take the high road **** is ****ing boring, old and lame! They're dead. They do far worse to Americans! I'd much rather my dead body be pissed on than have my head cut off with my hands tied behind my back. |
