You get a "friend request",

from a sweet, young, "twenty something" year old man,

that asks, if you will be his friend.

He tells you, he thinks, you are soo pretty.



I have actually formatted in my "notebook", an answer to these requests.

And it goes like this...

"I only friend people, that I have gotton to know. If you wish to get to know me, I am always on the forums here, and they are also free. So if you participate in them, I can get to know you there.

Thank you for the compliments, thats very sweet of you.

I currently do have a boyfriend, but you can never have too many friends. :)

I think,

this is not only a way to politely say, "I dont just "friend" anyone who asks,

because I dont.

To me, its not a "see how many friends I can get on my friends list competition". Look I have so many, dig me".

The people on my friends list, are people who know me, and accept me, just the way I am.

BUT,

(even though its not the soul intention, it also promotes, more people, to participate in the threads).

And then it happens!

The next email you get, is from MIngle, telling you, have been added to their "favorites".

Then I feel bad!

I think what you put sounds polite enough. I don't like when people collect friends purely for the numbers. This type of thing always happens on Facebook, too (Never). I think that's reason enough. Just like in real life, i'm sure you don't befriend just anyone and everyone. If anyone did, i start getting a little worried. :flower:

Of course I'm driving. I'd fly, but they get a little uptight nowadays when you bust into the cockpit and demand control of the plane. Pfft. Doubting the dependability of my rides. I fix cars for a living ya know....

You ever done restoration work? In a couple of years I wouldn't mind having a 427 1967 Vette restored, stinger and all.

I primarily do mechanical/electrical work and usually try not to get into paint/body TOO much. I am in the LONG process of restoring a '69 and a '79 Camaro at the moment though (my own toys). Well, the '79 is a ground up, but not really a restoration considering it will be far from stock (including the body).

I wouldn't mind having a '67 427 Vette either! I have a '74 that one of these days I'll get around to freshening up the paint and interior on.

Wow, Roberta. You actually respond when you decline a friend request? I decline them all unless I know them from the forums. But I never bothered to write a response to anyone explaining why. Now I feel bad.
