The “Iron Man” of rock & roll is determined to make a full and successful recovery.

Black Sabbath announced that Tony Iommi is in the “early stages” of the cancer, but did not say whether it would affect the band’s upcoming reunion tour scheduled to begin May 18 in Moscow.

Today’s statement says the band has been working in Los Angeles on the band’s first new album in 33 years and that Ozzy Osbourne, Geezer Butler and Bill Ward will go to the U.K. to continue working with Iommi and that “further information will be released as it becomes available.”

Today’s statement – posted on Black Sabbath’s Facebook page – also said the band “would like everyone to send positive vibes to the guitarist at this time.”

Go figure....I thought all the drugs would have got em.

Ain't life ironic?

(Honestly, after seeing how Kieth Richards survived the pickling process and everyone else dies from cancer...really makes me think that there ain't a legitimate reason to give up drugs)
