I'm addicted...
I've started making a basic green smoothie every morning and if I go without for a couple days, I am jones-ing for one. I've had two other people tell me the same thing. (Or course, more people tell me it looks disgusting as they recoil in terror!) Blend until smooth (nope, you don't need a juicer!) 2 C baby spinach 1 banana 6 strawberries about 12 oz water (or enough to make it whirl!) 146 calories of nutritionally dense, delicious drink. It's BRIGHT green but tastes like fruit. You can use fresh or frozen fruit. You can add protein powder, yogurt, milk or other fruit or fruit juice and even a bit of sweetener if you like (although that changes the calorie count.) I personally prefer to save the extra calories, yogurt for example, as a mid-morning snack. Yummy and hey, you get to freak out anyone who sees you drinking it! Double sweet! |

I prefer spinach because kale can be a little bitter - but there are no rules. I am gonna go whip up a green breakfast now!
