One day, Youngsters will learn words they will not understand, Children from India will ask: "What is hunger?" Children from Alabama will ask: "What is racial segregation?" Children from Hiroshima will ask: "What is the atomic bomb?" Children at school will ask: "What is war?" You will answer them, you will tell them: "Those are words not used any more, Like 'stage-coaches', 'galleys' or 'slavery', Words no longer meaningful, That is why they have been removed from dictionaries." Martin Luther King Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it. George Santayana (1863 - 1952), The Life of Reason, Volume 1, 1905 History is the witness that testifies to the passing of time; it illumines reality, vitalizes memory, provides guidance in daily life and brings us tidings of antiquity. Cicero (106 BC - 43 BC), Pro Publio Sestio History is the version of past events that people have decided to agree upon. Napoleon Bonaparte (1769 - 1821) Want of foresight, unwillingness to act when action would be simple and effective, lack of clear thinking, confusion of counsel until the emergency comes, until self-preservation strikes its jarring gong-these are the features which constitute the endless repetition of history. Sir Winston Churchill (1874 - 1965), Speech, House of Commons, May 2, 1935 |

This just in... the major media just reported today, that the world is NOT going to end on December 21, 2012.
It was on the news. It must be true. I guess I'm going to have to pay my bills after all. |

I was about to remortgage my home for all its worth...
Thanks for the news... |

I realize there will be a lot of disappointed fundamentalists Christians who have been looking forward to it, but I don't think that will discourage them. They will continue to wait for the wrath of god upon the earth with joy and anticipation.

Just read this...
"The Sun is the original God. All energy and life on Earth originates on the Sun. Religion is a distraction, set in place by man to speak to slaves. To encourage the common man to get along, be happy, multiply, and serve their masters. Above all, to keep men ignorant of the fact that our only true master is the Sun. The Sun makes no demands of us other than to enjoy it’s plentiful energy." I like it... |

I believe and hold my faith in the Son of God, my Savior and hate to see anyone mocking my beliefs or what others may believe.
Even though sometimes it may be hard, I try to be respectful.I'm not perfect, my beliefs do not make me perfect in any way or better than anyone else. I'm human, I sin, but because of what I believe, I do recognize a sin and try not to repeat it, I don't always succeed but it is an awareness. It is especially hard when anyone needs to put a group into a certain, not always true category. People can be so wrong and only spread hate or at least a negative view of others. I take each person as an individual. I for one certainly do not revel in the thought of God's wrath. I don't see suffering as joyous. There are people who pray to lessen what may happen, myself included. We are living in very interesting times and my faith is a huge comfort to me. I only wish that everyone has, or will eventually will know, that same comfort. Best Wishes to everyone for Peace, Happiness and Love in 2012!! |

This year, 2012, we have been hearing so much about it for a long time. Its hard to believe that it is here!
Whether it means anything I don't know. I think it will be a better year than last year. |

A lot of history need to be revisited and re written. Example: Voices of a People's History of the United States..Howard Zinn And which version shall be used............20 people witness an accident each story carries a variable different from each of the earlier versions.....which story remains accurate, say five have the same version that the one car was turning left, but the rest of their stories differ from their's...two other have two components actually the same and so on.....and so on....etc. Just because these people over there don't think its accurate, but those over there do, and those over there believe half correct, while another believes its 1/4 correct and so on, etc. |

Nice to see Martin Luther King and John Lennon named on the same page. I would like to add another name to this list. President Dwight Eisenhower Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired signifies, in the final sense, a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, those who are cold and are not clothed. This world in arms is not spending money alone. It is spending the sweat of its laborers, the genius of its scientists, the hopes of its children. The cost of one modern heavy bomber is this: a modern brick school in more than 30 cities. It is two electric power plants, each serving a town of 60,000 population. It is two fine, fully equipped hospitals. It is some 50 miles of concrete highway. We pay for a single fighter plane with a half million bushels of wheat. We pay for a single destroyer with new homes that could have housed more than 8,000 people. Peace will bring the greatest prosperity of all..... Genetically Modified Foods can also cause food shortages! Ohhhhh....geese. Don't get me started on genetically engineered food! |
