Haven't seen many. I just recently (well few months ago) Re read Hotel New Hampshire for the umpteenth time. I agree, every character, from the leads, to the smaller are interesting.

I've read most of the Harry Potter books except for the last three I think, in order.

The movies were much better, the books had too much teenage angst in them. I guess for some people it was similar to Lord of the Rings where Frodo was making his way across the wastelands?

Ah well, heard from ChristinaCoSpgs that Game of Thrones was a book, I'm going to check it out next. If it is more than one book, which is the first one? I read LOTR prior to the Hobbit, so I read them out of order and didn't care for the Hobbit, LOTR spoiled me.

Don't wanna do that again!noway

Game of Thrones is really good - over 800 pages, and then there's a ton more in the series. Going to get the 2nd one from a friend.

Just watched some with my son and his wife, a little bit tiltillating (sp) aren't they? laugh

The Last Policeman by Ben Winters

What’s the point in solving murders if we’re all going to die soon, anyway?

Detective Hank Palace has faced this question ever since asteroid 2011GV1 hovered into view. There’s no chance left. No hope. Just six precious months until impact.

The Last Policeman presents a fascinating portrait of a pre-apocalyptic United States. The economy spirals downward while crops rot in the fields. Churches and synagogues are packed. People all over the world are walking off the job—but not Hank Palace. He’s investigating a death by hanging in a city that sees a dozen suicides every week—except this one feels suspicious, and Palace is the only cop who cares.

The first in a trilogy, The Last Policeman offers a mystery set on the brink of an apocalypse. As Palace’s investigation plays out under the shadow of 2011GV1, we’re confronted by hard questions way beyond “whodunit.” What basis does civilization rest upon? What is life worth? What would any of us do, what would we really do, if our days were numbered?

Bared to You by Sylvia Day. A bit similar to Fifty Shades of Grey, but much more well written.
