IF ONLY I could wake up to find
The fella that I dream of
In a dream lost far behind

The prince with decent manners
The one who showed he cared
IF ONLY I could find him
In more than a distant prayer

The fellow who brought flowers
The one who kissed my cheek
Working as a teamplayer
Compassionate and sleek

For his inner core
Would shine on Christmas Day
Giving from his heart and soul
In each and every way

So I wrap up an empty box
A gold foiled one with a bow
Knowing treasured dreams
Within are all I know

Hope packaged so neatly
For one day I'm sure I'll find
This special man of integrity
With a great heart and mind

Each and every Christmas
I will remember this empty box
Which holds a heart that's longing
For the hope to be unlocked.
