My parents and I were going to dinner last night when my dad posed a question to my mother and I. Now, as you will soon see, Daddy is an abstract thinker and quite the philosopher. However, how even he could come up with this one is beyond me. Got me to thinking though................

If you had the choice of either:
1. Becoming invisible
OR
2. Have the ability to fly

Which would you choose?

Now, surprisingly, my elderly mother, gentle, kind, loving grandmother of eight pondered only moments when she came up with this statement, "I would be invisible! Do you know how many people you could slap and they wouldn't know what hit 'em!" MOTHER!

Personally, I would choose the invisible powers, and these are a few of the reasons: 1. You could see any movie you wanted..for FREE 2. You could listen in on any conversation you chose to. 3. You could eat at the best restaurant and never pay a dime simply by taking food from other people's plates. 4. You could torment the people who have wronged you by closing doors, playing the piano, moving objects, turning off and on lights, or depending on how vengeful you are, quite possibly pulling the rug out from under their feet...........

Downfalls of being able to fly, in my humble opinion:
1. You run the risk of being studied as a UFO
2. If you are not high enough, kids would throw rocks at you.
3 I'd be so busy sightseeing, I'd run into birds, planes, hot air balloons, etc.
4. The day I would REALLY want to go flying, it would be raining!

Any thoughts?

Ok...I've had this discussion before with people...lol

Here's my question...if you're invisible are you invisible because you have no form and shape? Or are you invisible because you just don't appear to people?

Cause that's the issue when it comes to like, closing doors, moving objects, etc...if you have no form or shape then you can't pick things up because there's "nothing" to you. And if you have form and shape so you can pick things up then people will also be bumping into you and you might accidently bump into things and cause attention to be drawn to your now invisible self.

There was never any question for me. I'd take the ability to fly.

I've been obsessed with wings, flying, flight, planes, etc...since I was a little girl. I had a weird woman one time tell me that this was my first human-form experience on the earth and that I had always been a winged creature in my past lives. And this wasn't like a psychic reading or something...we were sitting in a hospital waiting room and out of the blue she asked me how my time on earth as a two legged creature was treating me. Yeah...I was a little freaked out...but she kept talking and it all started to make sense.

I love anything with wings...and I've been doodling wings since I could draw...someday I'll have wings tattooed on my back...I just have to come up with the **perfect** set.

So...flying for me please!



And this is on the same idea...but has anyone ever seen the books "Would you rather..." (They might have a website now too...)

They're HYSTERICAL!! The pose all of these outrageous questions like..."Would you rather cry marbles or vomit flowers?"

My favorite one is about not being able to tell babies from english muffins...

Great post, FPBN! Wow! Now THAT took some thought! Actually, Daddy said the same thing about ppl bumping into him if he were invisible and I told him, whilst laughing, that being invisible wouldn't make you blind! LOL You could move out of their way, you can see them! giggle And good thought on the form, etc. Yeah, I was thinking that you'd be the same, just not being seen. So, yes, the food coming off of the plate could be seen, (only until eaten...grin), etc. Cool about that lady knowing about your love for wings, flying!

Oh yeah that's the other thing...if you're invisble can people hear you???

My luck...someone would be wearing some god awful perfume and I'd end up sneezing...

Being invisible would just get me into ALL kinds of trouble...but now...if I could fly...I could fly somewhere other than the foggy coast of Maine today!!!!! *gets out her knife to cut her way to her car*
