"Mother's Best Flour brings you that Lovesick Blues boy, Hank Williams !!!!!......."
Mother's Best Flour Show 13-A2, starring Hank Williams and his Drifting Cowboys with Cousin Louie Buck (announcer) - 15 minute radio show, circa fall, 1951 Portion of Lovesick Blues (Theme) California Zephyr (Hank says he just wrote it a few days earlier) Mother's Best Jingle Down Yonder (fiddle tune) Softly and Tenderly (group vocal) Instrumental version of Lovesick Blues (theme) In-between the songs, there is a lot of pitching, of course, of the Mother's Best products. There are about 70 transcriptions of these shows that have survived, and Hank Williams is very informal, relaxed and funny. He also throws in a jingle he wrote for Mother's Best on each show. |
