Does anyone else feel weird when a place is not taken? My parents table seats 6. My parents sit at the ends. I sit on the right front next do my dad, growing up my sister was on my left, my brother was tall and insisted I was kicking him on purpose sat across from me and his best friend, Alan, sat to the right of him.

I'm just not a fan of sitting at the dining table anyway. Never have been. As soon as i mention that to anyone, it quickly turns into some assumption that i must have some sort of eating disorder. I can't bleedin' talk about food with my family, as just cos i have a small stomach, so i get bloated easily whenever i eat. I apparantely must be anorexic. Just wtf? But anyway, my younger sisters always fight at the dining table on xmas day, and every other friggin day too laugh. So, no, never liked the ole dining table , but i'll sit at one as to not show bad manners, and respect.

Nope, can't say that I have that problem. I have a small table though and have to bring out the folding table for get togethers for more room.

I prefer buffet style dinners anyway. Everyone serves themself and sits wherever they want. happy

Can't answer that as I don't have Christmas dinner but I have had smaller dinners and no an empty chair doesn't bother me.

Me either. No family or friends coming to see me. Just myself and my dog Keno. So. Why bother with a table?
