Shoplifting Suspect says: 'I'm The Cookie Monster'

INDIANTOWN, Fla. -- A Martin County sheriff's deputy said crumbs falling from a man's lips helped authorities solve a case of shoplifting.

According to an arrest affidavit obtained by TCPalm.com, deputies from the Martin County Sheriff's Office responded to a Circle K store in Indiantown on a report of shoplifting.
A store clerk said someone stole a package of cookies worth $1.19.

A deputy said he spotted Sebastian Esteban with the crumbs on his lips and asked him about the missing cookies.
"Yeah, I stole the cookies; I'm the cookie monster," Esteban told deputies.
Esteban faces several charges.
