Two-Time Congressional Medal of Honor Recipient
Major General Smedley D. Butler - USMC Retired

One of Butler's most widely quoted statements:

"I spent 33 years and four months in active military service and during that period I spent most of my time as a high class muscle man for Big Business, for Wall Street and the bankers. In short, I was a racketeer, a gangster for capitalism. I helped make Mexico and especially Tampico safe for American oil interests in 1914. I helped make Haiti and Cuba a decent place for the National City Bank boys to collect revenues in. I helped in the raping of half a dozen Central American republics for the benefit of Wall Street. I helped purify Nicaragua for the International Banking House of Brown Brothers in 1902-1912. I brought light to the Dominican Republic for the American sugar interests in 1916. I helped make Honduras right for the American fruit companies in 1903. In China in 1927 I helped see to it that Standard Oil went on its way unmolested. Looking back on it, I might have given Al Capone a few hints. The best he could do was to operate his racket in three districts. I operated on three continents."

Iran? North Korea? Where do we send our kids next, and for what cause?

Freedom? Safety? Those are the goals of "we the people" and are best achieved with our troops at home!

Some Post That....waving

I am sure you and I would not agree on all things but as you say you have been there and done that so to speak and you have every right to speak your mind.

Might is not always right.....If all you have is a hammer everything must look like a NAIL.

I have said it before but it is is worth saying again............That is a great shirt...drinker

That's right. Don't confront the terrorists! They must be allowed
to develop nuclear weapons! Otherwise they might get mad!

No one can touch Iran or they will unleash the most devastating
set of bus and train bombings the world has ever seen - in London,
NY, Tel Aviv and Madrid!

The devastation could be incalculable. It might be nothing or it
could be a lot or maybe it would be kind of in between. We just
can't tell! It's incalculable! Run Away!

laugh

If I were you I would dig a deep backyard bunker, stockpile it with
canned prunes and hide there behind a hermetically sealed door until
the confrontation with Iran is over!!

Look out for all the potential dervishitation!!

scared

Like Ron Paul, I believe in DEFENSE whole heartedly! NOT unsanctioned agression and nation building!

Spies, as the CIA is suppossed to be (as opposed to the US Drug Cartel they have become), doing their job, is and was ALWAYS a great asset! They have become so adulterated now, they couldn't even stop 9/11 with intel!

We have made allies, and still stay propping up foreign economies....why? Kind of defeats the purpose of being "allies"....so we don't have to be there to protect OUR interests in the region.

We HAD to go to Iraq... so we were told, ALL based on lies! Now, we have lost many lives, maimed many of or children and spent TRILLIONS of taxpayer dollars! The results? It's back to business as usual there now we have gone! What was it for?

I know the reasons.... I'm just wondering why we the people allowed it?!

The beat goes on! Libya, Iran, North Korea now maybe? WHY?

N Korea may be a threat! They do have abilities for MUCH harm! But NOBODY is going to use NUKES! They would be inihalated INSTANTLY in that exchange! The washover would affect too many in the region who are also nuclear.... IT WON"T HAPPEN! If NK even THOUGHT of it, because they DO have nukes, it would be old news by tomorrow as the smoke hangs over the rubble! They've "test fired", and we knew it wasn't a threat....just muscle flexing by a little man with a BIG ego. He's gone, the future is yet undetermined.

Iran is NO threat! NO air force, NO Navy, NO nukes! Great numbers of people, passionate when provoked, NOT a threat! And they are a member of the treaty....Isreal IS NOT!

If Isreal wants war, let them have it! But not at a cost to US! We as friends will support, but NOT interfere!! I hope!

PS... the shirt is part of my Musketeers outfit...taken at a Faire during a break laugh
