This happened quite a few years ago. Its sort of funny but it speaks to our screwed up legal system.

In a corrupt local government in a town where I lived, I was once ordered to testify before a grand jury. I was also ordered never to reveal what I had told the grand jury under the threat of being charged with contempt of court.

Two weeks later I was made to testify at a public hearing about what I knew about some government officials and police corruption. I was asked publicly what I testified to the grand jury about. I refused to answer because of being threatened with contempt of court.

Here is the stupid thing. I was then told that I had to answer the question or I would be in contempt of court. So I am in contempt of court no matter what I do.

Is it no wonder I hold contempt for the legal system?

Another funny thing was that some of the esteemed members of the questioning panel were some of the very corrupt politicians and lawyers in question. The judge who was asking me the questions was totally corrupt and I had first hand knowledge about how he had been bribed.

I'm sorry, I have little faith in the legal system.
