As all of you who know me, know I am a huge Lenny Kravitz fan and as a native southern Californian, not shocked by much. I am a big fan of his new album, Black and White America. I went on a bi-racial date and was horrified because the man gay bashed with abandon. I said to him, "You realize not that many years ago, we could not have sat here at a bi-racial date and not had people say such ignorant things about us and it's the same thing to do it to them". I suspect from some of the looks we got there it was not 2011 in some people's heads and they were thinking things about us. He refused to see how it could be the same thing. Maybe I move in more modern circles. I didn't know people still thought that way. Does the rest of the country still feel this way and I am just in southern CA surrounded by GLAAD and the Transgender Alliance and all that so more exposed?
