All good where I am Carol. I moved to the North island about 4 months ago.I didn't know anything about the shakes til I heard it on the news. Seems they've had a bunch more overnight.

I love gumbo!!!  What do you put in yours? Have you were tried adding Conch or Alligator? This was my first attempt alone and I didn't make the roux dark enough, but it was tasty anyway...chicken, shrimp, sausage. I haven't had conch in about 20 years and only tasted alligator since I moved to Houston. Haven't put either in gumbo but will keep them in mind :) |

Haven't put either in gumbo but will keep them in mind :) When I was working for Brenda...she had a chef..he made gumbo one time for a party she was having...he got the roux so dark he burned it...it was awful...no file gumbo in it or anything...worse gumbo I ever tasted..no one would eat it...I threw out two huge kettles of it....but he was a pet of hers and she thought it was wonderful!
