I call myself a cat whisperer.

I have a cat blog, but I have not posted to it for a long time.

I'm thinking about writing a children's book about my new kitty Ruby and how she adjusts to her new home here with six other cats.

Here is my cat whisper blog if you want to take a look.

I had nine cats at one stage. I like cats because they are independent.

Most of the time they are outside. I have a special room for them too I call the "cat porch" with all their beds and food etc. It has a cat door to the outside.

They only all come inside my apartment area if it is below zero outside and their water is freezing on the cat porch. I don't have heat in there, but it is insulated.

There is a sign there that reads:

I LOVE MY CATS UNCONDITIONALLY
They are only here for the free food.

All my cats were outside the house. Except when they were ill. I have some good stories to tell about cats .

I am going to use some cat stories to create some children's books.

You can publish a book online and sell it by print on demand.

Yes they aren't much trouble. I provide a home, and an automatic feeding dish and some water, and they just come and go when they want.

If they are inside my apartment, sometimes they get annoying or into things. If they do, out they go.

The well behaved cats get to come in more often.

I have a male cat that is part Siamese. I have never heard a cat "talk" before this. It is so funny to hear him and the noise he makes. He has a cold right now, so he is pretty quiet, but I expect that he will be chatting away very soon!

Even though Kenton was born in London I brought her to Rural Ireland and took her to the local vet to get her spayed. (I think that is what is done to cats) The Vet told me he had never spayed a cat and I left it at that. I have to say that people in Rural Ireland in General are not all that fond of cats.

That is unbelievable that a vet had never spayed a cat. What kind of vet is that?

People are probably not fond of them because they are breeding out of control.

duh.frustrated

He was honest and said he had performed similar operations on horses/cattle/dogs etc but had never dealt with cats.

And no it is not because they are breeding out of control. Maybe things have changed...I am talking about 30/35 years ago

Probably because people didn't want to pay for a cat to be spayed when they could just shoot them.tears

Siamese are a hoot! And oh yeah, they talk your ears off! My folks found a baby that had been dumped and once she recovered it was all noise. Mom always joked that Carina and dad had to have their sit down and talk before mom and dad could have theirs when he got home from work. She loved being under the covers in the winter and would gently tap dad on the face to get him to lift the covers. tapping would harder if he wasn't fast enough. Unfortunately, she was the only cat that my folks had to declaw after she shredded 2 couches. But she was a great cat.

Jeannie, like the book idea. I've always wanted to do that with my animals. Definitely good stories to tell. :-)

I had a friend who had a large Male Siamese Cat named "Tiger" who could say "hello" as good as any human.

I was walking up to her door and the cat sat on the porch. He looked at me and said, "Hello." as plain as day.

I went in and told her owner, "Tiger said 'hello' to me!"

She said, "Yes, he says that a lot to people." She was not a bit surprised.

I said, "NO! He really did say HELLO!

She said, "I know."
