Topic: How have people on Mingle affected you? | |
---|---|
I had an interesting night at a military dinner and the discussion came up about how people that came into our lives have affected us.So, I was thinking about how certain people on Mingle2 have affected me. These are the people that truly have affected my life. First person is singmesweet. I think you are an awesome gal. I love how you ask questions on the forums and when you do you certainly make me think why the heck didn’t I ask it? Your thirst for knowledge makes you a truly remarkable woman. Lex; you are such an honest; down to earth guy and hell if I were younger I would be after you. You cut the crap and just say what is on your mind which is such a breath of fresh air. Your honesty is truly inspiring. MsHarmony; I am impressed how you can have so much compassion for the human race; yet you are so damn practical. You truly do make me question about my quest for life. Loves2rocknroll; you truly are the free spirit that I aspire to be and truly keep me feeling young. You of all people make me feel beautiful and sexy. Josie; you truly are such a sweet and loving woman that sees so much joy in life that I feel I am missing. I can’t thank you people enough for making me a better person. So for the rest of you on mingle; who here on Mingle2 has affected your life?

My mingle "family" has taught me patience, acceptance and what a true friend should be. But most of all, I realised that I can be loved for who I am I do not have to settle for anything less. Rick taught me that and much more. Yes, Rick was a mingle member but he never posted in the forums.

I would have to say that people on Mingle have shown me something about human nature that I never really see anymore in real life. The ones I've gotten to know a little bit, beyond the site -- people like Whisper and Marie55 and Lilith401 and Misswright -- have proven to me that there are still some good people out there. I tend to be skeptical about things like that, for various reasons, but I see that the truth is that there really are people who do care about others; not for some self-serving agenda, not because they want something out of the deal, but just because that's who they are. We are fortunate to have so many good people on this site, and I hope this will never change. |

Two of the best friends I ever had, I've made on Mingle2. And justme659 aka Robin is one of them.
But, to quote Boonedoggy61 ('cause I feel the same way), "I love all my mingle family." |

I can say in all honesty that each poster on here, whether I have found them to be cheerful, or crabby, welcoming or off-putting, has meant a great deal to me, and I love them all as contributing editors to my perspective. Really, I love them all (you all), as if they are my family. More realistically, as a part of who I am. We are all flawed and blessed. This is why I come back. I think it was Dragoness who said we are all one, and in this context, that couldnt be more true. So next time you see me argue with someone, know that it doesnt mean I hate them. My feelings are quite the opposite. As usual, klc has stated my feelings better than I could have myself. (She does this a lot) My mingle family has made me a better person since I first came here 3 years ago. And, Skyhook, may he rest in peace, taught me never to be too embarrassed to ask the "stupid question". Live and learn. |

I also love all my mingle friends.. And it helps to know that I'm not the only one that has problems.. Actually mine are not as bad as some people have.. I have always had compassion and there are a lot here that need that, some just need someone to listen. When I first got on a dating site(not this one) friends there helped me thru the first Xmas season without my husband and my mom.. That was amazing as I hadn't met any of them in person...Thank you all

I crossed swords with some, was supportd by other, have supported, debated, thought, prayed, indulged, cried, and every thought provoking thread, shared photo, discussed, enlightening moment has made me a better person for knowing my friends on Mingle2. Of course, I've made too many friends to even mention, and some aren't here any longer for whatever reason. Each one has touched my life in one way or another.

Everyone on this site has touched me in some way, Some good & some not so good. My Mingle2 Family gives me strength to fight a poison that seems to want to live in me, Without the support of my Family here I would be lost. Thank you Everyone on this site that has touched my Heart You give me the strength to live each day to it's fullest.

I also like what KLC said. I enjoy posting on the forums and often just for the humor but also because what other's say often makes me think - even if we don;t agree
I think the site has a good collection of folks who are OK with "agree to disagree" which appeals to me because I have always been like that - don't care so much if people don't completely agree with me - they are still my friends, so I appreciate finding that acceptance of individuality on here I have learned on here that it is the WAY we disagree that is important & a valuable reflection my personal experiences on here have been a mixture of good & bad but I think that reflects real life sometimes the people who you think at first you simply have nothing n common with or are too young too old too conservative too liberal etc etc, end up being among ur best buds I am very hard to get to know & the fact that some here have been able to do that - even a little - is remarkable & appreciated |
