I'm clever. I have spent years getting annoyed over lost socks which reappear and now have one of those net laundry bags where socks are all kept together and none, I repeat NONE, can escape. The new socks in the shops are terrified when I go to purchase some as they have heard about my reputation. shocked

You know the socks might drown if they can't get on top to breathe, right?

Well that is better for them because a few hours on my feet is worse than drowning in the machine rofl

I will not go there. No, no I won't.

Just as well there are several thousand miles between us, although when the wind is blowing in the right direction and there is a whiff of something strange in the air, you will know it is my feet rofl

I can see that if you are a platypus. If you are, beware of gearhead who collects platypus I think. Might be thinking of someone else.

You must be. I have been called many things, but never a platypus. I am not sure what a platypus is even. I will have to investigate further.

Remember I was thinking about your feet!

These are amazing accounts by you guys!

Documentation is always helpful.

What sort of documentation do you need?

Case files of recovered and still missing socks.

just the facts

You know what we need - pictures on here of single socks missing their partner.

That should be an entirely different forum!

Anyway, do you have any pictures you can post of your existing socks that are missing their mates?

..i have a missing sock cold case ..It was a rainy Thursday afternoon on October 10th 2011.With nothing else better to do with my life at the time i decided to tackle the laundry in my son's room,i had him sort it for me the night before and group the socks he had just bought a few days prior..so we knew at this time the socks were together..

..but when the laundry was done the sock was missing (pause for orchestral scary music here)

..we quicly ran down the list of suspects..the washer, the dryer and all the clothes that last saw him..the pants at first looked suspicious altho we didnt pass up the thought that maybe there was a clearer motive..maybe it was the left sock who did seem to be a bit jealous of the right sock..

..someone in the crowd said it was the black sock (sorry couldn't resist the ole blame it on the black sock excuse)..lol

we knew it had to be an inside job..someone who knew the movements of the missing sock..perhaps they had observed it from the closet..we have been waiting for a phone call expecting a demand for ransom..we have thought about calling the SBI ( sock bureau of investigations) but we're afraid that if we involve the police..the sock may never be heard from again....sad

I buy into the socks morphing into hangers theory. Has anyone ever noticed how readily hangers multiply? Those socks we lose must go somewhere.

I'm telling you... socks and hangers..they have a sort of code about them. I once had a blue hanger go missing which by the way..have no clue where it came from to begin with but... a blue lone sock appeared in my dryer! I own only white socks! Please someone... help me on that one!what

Rumor has it, that it's called a Gearhead, but they are quite the evasive ones. Scientists have been trying to capture one for years for closer observation, but the elusiveness of that critter has made it quite difficult. Until one is finally captured, research teams have decided that it is more productive to study more readily available creatures such as the sasquatch and Lochness Monster.
