Topic: McCain says troops could have stayed in Iraq | |
---|---|
Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) says an agreement could have been reached to keep more American troops in Iraq into next year.
Citing a trip he recently took to the country, McCain said on ABC's "ThisWeek": "[The Iraqis] wereready to negotiate. The United States didn't have a plan as to how many troops should remain behind. How could we expect the Iraqis to sit down and agree?" And McCain said the issue of immunity for Americantroops could have been resolved. "It could have been negotiated, I know because I was there at the time," McCain said."The question of immunity could have been resolved. The question of immunity is being used as an excuse." |

Well, you have to consider Mc Cain's background. Also, our almost total withdrawal was interestingly timed. ; ) I personally thought it was a bit too radically fast. I worried for the solders left there so quickly. I kind of felt they are abandoned to fast. But we knew we had to leave eventually or end up like Korea. And we knew a Lord of the Flies mentality would set in as soon as we left. It's almost like we left token troops behind so we couldn't be called abandoners.

McCain would NUKE the world given 1/2 a chance. This racial bigot has no place in ANY kind of decision making office! He needs to be running prisons..... then nobody would want to go back to one! |

Senator McCain is an American patriot and a decorated War Hero who knows a thing or two about battle and war. |

I find it funny that Obama decides to pull the troops out as this Presidential election is jumping into full gear. This was nothing more then a political ploy.
