Thinking what an incredible day today was. It could not have been better! Thinking, not for me. Aced my midterm, did a role play in class today with five of my peers in which I was the counselor leading a Video Games Addicts group. Afterwards, several people asked me, "Are you sure you've never lead a group before?" Today could not have been better. |

Thinking that the cracker industry is up to no good. Ok, so I grab some crackers for my soup and notice that the package says "unsalted tops". Hmmmm..... Not being sure if it's supposed to be some sort of game, there's some sort of cracker etiquette that I'm not aware of, the 'saltine people' are just being cheap and trying to pull one over on me, or what, I am naturally intrigued. Now, after licking both the tops and bottoms of an entire sleeve of these mystery bearing soup accessories , I am still clueless as to which direction is 'up' and how this may effect my future cheese placing. I'm thinking you and I would get along very well......Did you inspect the side that is a little flatter and the holes aren't as wide I've always been under the assumption that, that was the underside....The rounder more lumpy side was the topside. Of course I did. I inspected and licked both sides equally well. No difference. Can we safely assume which side SHOULD be the top? Wouldn't that depend on the particular use of the cracker at that time? For instance, if you're going the 'single handle' route (i.e. one cracker with cheese on top), would the 'top side' be the lumpy side in order to help hold the cheese on, or would it go on the bottom since it's visually more appealing and still somewhat in view. Now, for 'double handle' applications (i.e. two crackers with the primary substance in between), should the lumpy (and often more uniformly colored) side be seen, or should it be turned to the inside to give more traction and to help in avoidance of your cheese sliding off of your cracker. However, in the case of peanut butter, it is naturally sticky and provides self-adhesion. So, would the lumpy sides go 'out' because of both the visual attraction and the needed resistance to prevent slippage in the fingers (sorta like the 'sesame-side' of a bun facing upwards on a Big Mac). |

I think you have brought up a very interesting point here. We would have to further delve in to "sticky" additions and "non-stick" additions. For when "sticky" is matched up with "single handle" I think you really have to go with the visual appearance of the whole ensamble i.e. topside (aka the more monotone in color side) up. With the "non-sticky" and "single handle" I think you need to go topside down and I stress this because even though the bottom side is flat the cracker should be held in a flat manner. If you utilize the "topside" of the cracker you run the risk of one of the lumps acting more like a downhill slide than a road block. |

oohh your right more proof of the combination of "sticky - single handle" that the top side should go down I did not even think about finger slippadge.

oohh your right more proof of the combination of "sticky - single handle" that the top side should go down I did not even think about finger slippadge. Hmmmmm......another possibly important discovery.... On the front of the box it clearly says "4 stay-fresh packs", however, if you look on the side it indiscreetly has a best if used by date. Somebody there is lying. Is it stay-fresh, or isn't it? We all know that the freshness and crispness characteristics go hand in hand with a cracker. But, how does that influence traction on either side?????? |

But, how does that influence traction on either side?????? Well of course the crispness goes hand in hand with the name crack-er if it was stale it does not crack it more or less bends. Now is your traction question pertaining to the freshness? If so I don't know more research is needed. |
