I rarely hand out spankings but when I do its after Grounding,Taking away TV,The Corner and Letting his Mother give it a shot so when I give out Spankings its Generally after all else has failed and He or She I have a Daughter as well....needs it

randomX please check at your school or community. This behavior modification is waaaay too cool. I do NOT believe in striking a child. That only promotes violence and gets no where FAST. If a daycare is playing rap music what is that saying about the quality of that center?? Not much. I just attended a parenting class geared at teenagers and their behavior. It helps parents deal with unruly teens, gang involvement, drugs, truancy, running away, etc. This is something every parent should strongly consider because i learned HEAPS from this class. Mine is not in his teens but these issues also are at the elementary levels sadly. The time to prepare for the hormonal rage with teenagers is NOW. Not by hitting or "whooping their asses". I can calmy look at my youngin and say "you just take your time son...when YOUR THROUGH with...(insert bad behavior)...THEN your punishment WILL BEGIN". Trust me. Its worth it just watching that face!!!!

I don`t whoop to often I am big enough and Scary enough (to a Child Anyway)it rarely makes it that Far....Yelling works very well for me. LOL

But I am TRYING to change I dont see them often enough these days to be the Disciplinarian I leave that to the Ex unless she asks me to handel it.......

Women are likely not to spank a kid and it shows. They are unruly and horrible when out in public. My kids act up in public and they will be sorry. I hate dating woman who,s kids are out of control and so do most other men.

I agree that the kid needs to know his limits now before he gets older and it gets out of hand. That is for the parents to take care of. If the daycare is out of line, then mom and dad need to have words with the administration.

I do all the Super Nanny stuff but nothing says "cut the ****" like a good wack on the bum..at least for my son.and he is on medicine..

i do agree abuse when it comes to punishment is wrong

but a well delivered spanking after other methods have failed is not and should not be considered abuse

granted some possibly handicapped children would not be appropriate regaurdless

but looking at the state of the social effects of the behavior modification tactics they defiantly do not work if that is the only tactic available to use as punishment
