Can anyone survive in any part of the world on 32 rupees = 65 U.S.cents per a day?

Indian national planning commission projected urban poverty line of Ruppes 32 per day.

It means that whoever is earning above Rs.32 per day isn't a poor guy & government need not care about his survival.

It depends on whether or not Wendy's has a value menu there and how you define rampant sewage as potable or not.

Diesel = 1 Dollar / Liter
Petrol = 1.3 Dollar / Liter
Milk = 0.5 Dollar / Liter
Bread = 80 Cents / KG
Ordinary Tea = 10 Cents / Cup
Minimum ordinary bus fare = 14 Cents
Bicycle tyre air pressure filling = 4 Cents
Poor quality Wheat = 30 Cents / KG
Cooking gas = 8 Dollars / 14 KG cylinder

These are the minimum charges as on today in india. On global scenario these charges may seem to be quiet cheap,but looking to the uneven distribution of wealth & income inside india its very hard for a person who earns Rs. 32 / Day to even prepare / purchase something for one time lunch too.

The basic motto of deciding a poverty line is to make proper arrangement for provision of govt. aid for survival of poor people.IF that estimate is so much lower then what is the use of spending so much of public money on just preparing plans & budgets??
