cat, I worked in nursing homes since i was about 15 until just recently. started as a nurses aide before you had to be certified and just never left :) One person can do a lot for their quality of life. It just got to the point where I needed something a little more challenging. besides I'm working on my bachellors degree, so I needed more experience

My dad & granddad died with their boots on.
Still in their own homes & doing what they wanted everyday. Silent heartattacks, I learned from their docs. Take better care of myself. Assisted living, don't think so. |

sage, I hope that is the way I go, but the women in my family seem to just hang on into their 80's, i am just working hard at being 80 and healthy so I can drive around in my old fashioned non hybrid car, with just my gray hair showing above the seat and my hands on the wheel irritating young people LOL

I know Lori...I am at that place in my life right now....trying to get my certification for CNA (was one long ago before you had to be certified) even went through the class back there in Ohio but never got my CNA, I could kick myself in the ass for that one.....trying to get it now here in IL.

well i can tell you that CNA's are a commodity in ohio, just aren't enough of them, you should get it, you won't ever have to look hard for a job

so true...been applying for a class here at one of the local NH that offers the class but they just don't seem to call me when the class is to start...am beginning to think it might be my age. I'm gonna have to get more aggressive and start bugging the crap out of them.
