The numbing cold
seeping in.
Entwining itself to
my very core.
Invading my bones
encasing my heart.
No mercy to be had,
no escape in sight.
Struggles only increase
the icy tenticles.
My hand reaches out,
one last plea for warmth.
All hope is gone.
A frozen smile, a touch so cold,
a single teardrop frozen
on my cheek for all eternity.
