well I believe that in studies of modern indigneous peoples which have given us insights into prehistoric communal behavior, women were gatherers also. they did hunt if men were away...on a hunting party for example, or at war.............. Once agriculture developed women also participated in farming and harvesting I think both men and women display the fight or flight response, and men capable of emotion, but there may be a tendency for the responses to be stronger according to gender or also training and socialization can intensify or direct those responses I also think how we react to each other is a good example - men will show a flight response if a woman is upset with him because he may not be as emotionally mature, and because he can't wrap his mind around what he sees as a "fight response" from a woman....when all we are doing is asking a question.... Very true. In the early 1800's the women split the wood yes, my undergraduate degree is in history with a minor in psychology |

Raising one of each gender child on a single parent environment with same toys, etc convinced me long ago that we are hardwired differently. Different isn't necessarily bad...it's just DIFFERENT. I have mixed feelings here because I didn't see a lot of gender differences until the kids were a little older and by then had started school where I was not the only one socializing them. As young children they were raised gender neutral by me one of my sons was the best behaved as a kid - actaully they all were - but as far as the compliance usually attributed to girl children - he had the quality the strongest |

These days, most Ladies are harder then Men. It's usally the Lady that will stand up and fight. And most Men I've seen are like pansys Yep, I agree. Most guys I met can't fight there way out of a wet paper bag. Me; however I am damn fiesty. Although I wonder how my brainwaves would stack up against a typical woman as I am a Tom boy at heart and not very emotional. I seldom ever cry and have never shed a tear over deaths of friends and family. Would I have masculine traits or is it just the military that has made me so hard? |
