This is a true story.

When I got home today it was only 102F. I live in the country.

Today I went into the concrete jungle and did some things. I left a bottle of water in the car. It felt MUCH hotter in the city than where I live. I got back into the car after about an hour and took a drink. The water burned my mouth like a cup of hot coffee.

Ouch...didn't you feel how hot the bottle was when you picked it up? it can be as little as 20 degrees hotter in the vehicle than out.

My car has a black top and black interior and was sitting in the full sun. I think it was over 20 degrees hotter in the car.

The point is that I have never felt such heat in my life!

If this heat is the norm for just a few years, the trees will die and we will look like the Mexican desert.

Because as the heat and dryness move North, the plants from the Mexican desert move with them into Texas. Big Bend is already there.

You need to get hurricane Glenda to tell you about all the cheese she brought back!

Well most of it is on my azz...
But it was delicious! I'll post photos later. (Not of my azz, silly!)

How sad is this??? Went to bed at 9:30 thinking that after being up for almost 24 hours, I'd sleep through the night. But I am wide awake at 2:30...it may take a few days to get back on Texas time. Meanwhile, I can check in to Mingle (Hi Pals!) and start another load of laundry...maybe I'll go watch a movie. That almost ALWAYS puts me to sleep!
