A Wellington man found wearing women's panties on his head was jailed Tuesday night after allegedly fighting with deputies and a police dog, according to police reports.
William French, 40, was booked into the Carson City Jail at 11:59 p.m. on suspicion of felony mistreatment of a police animal, providing false ID to avoid prosecution, resisting arrest with violence, probation violation and disorderly conduct. According to the arrest report, police were called to the 3300 block of Imperial Way about 11:20 p.m. by a woman who said an intoxicated man she didn't know had knocked on her door and told her would be back to party. Deputies arrived and found French allegedly carrying a bottle of alcohol and wearing black and pink women's G-string panties on his head. “The male had difficulty walking and smelled of an alcohol beverage,” Deputy Brian Mendoza wrote in his report. A preliminary breath test indicated French's blood alcohol content was .215 percent, according to police. The officers allowed French to try to find a ride home after he told them he lived in Douglas County, but when those attempts were unsuccessful, they decided to arrest him on a charge of disorderly conduct. French tensed up and refused to cooperate, according to the report. “I removed my Taser and placed it to the right rear of (French's) back,” the report states. “I instructed him again to place his hands behind his back. “ French allegedly attempted to stand up, and the officer shocked him. “(French) lunged forward and onto his knees. (He) continued to refuse to give up his hands and attempted to stand up,” according to the report. Deputy Jimmy Surratt then sent police K9 Ary into the mix, and Ary bit French on the buttocks, according to the report. French then swung at Ary, and Surratt pulled Ary out of the fray, police said. When French allegedly continued to refuse to cooperate, Surratt sent Ary in again. This time, Ary bit French on the left forearm, the report states. “(French) then began punching (Ary) with a closed fist numerous times,” according to the report. Surratt pulled Ary out again and Mendoza shocked French again. Finally, French complied, the report states. French, who was on a no-alcohol clause as part of probation, also allegedly gave police a false name. He is being held on $10,000 bail. http://www.nevadaappeal.com/article/20110811/NEWS/110819978/1007&parentprofile=1058 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
