Most solar flares will only cause minor problems with satellites and power grids, but there's always a chance that a monster like the one from 1859 could hit.

one of em will hit us sooner or later and when it does all the delicate high tech technology we have will be rendered useless. Th earth got hit in the 1800's by a solar flare and it knocked out the telegraph system all over the United States, telegraph equipment. The new stuff we have today won't stand a chance. We get hit by a good one and it will be like global EMP going off. |
