Bubba Smith was an NFL star and played the role of Hightower in the Police Academy series.

NFL star-turned-actor Bubba Smith was found dead Wednesday in his Los Angeles home at age 66.

According to the Los Angeles Times, Smith's body was discovered by a caretaker. A cause of death has not yet been determined.

Smith, best remembered for his role in comedy film series "Police Academy," played professional football with the Baltimore Colts, Oakland Raiders and Houston Oilers.

The six-foot-seven, 265-pound defensive lineman made two Pro Bowl appearances during his nine-year career.

Smith's fame skyrocketed in 1984 with the release of "Police Academy," in which the former football player portrayed the role of the soft-spoken, yet physically dominating Moses Hightower.

The Police Academy movie they are making wont be the same!

This sucks, I was really looking forward to seeing him in the new Police Academy movie that is in pre-production. That makes four of the major cast members who have died and wont be coming back!

The other's are David Graf(Tackleberry), Billie Bird(Lois Feldman and Tab Thacker(Officer Thomas "House" Conklin) I really loved Graf and Smith, they will definately be missed in the upcoming movie!

Yeah, Tackleberry was as gung ho as they come LOL

They are doing a complete reboot with the entire cast coming back. Setve Gutenberg is supposedly going to direct as well as appear in it.

Hell, I just read the are making another sequil to Three Men and a Baby and Three Men and a Little Lady called Three Men and a Bride.

Holy Crap, they are making another sequil to Short Circut and Short Circut 2. What's up with all the Steve Guttenberg sequils. Next there will be a Cocoon 3.
