Their energy can be attractive. Different life priorities can get in the way of LTR's. Each person is unique, so it is quite possible to be attracted to and have good relationships with older, younger or same age. All have associated rewards and costs in both general and specific terms. In my personal case, if they are too much younger or older than me, I do evaluate things a bit more carefully going in.

I was in a LTR, 10years with someone 10years younger then I..It was great, but in the end we were in 2 different places in life.
We still have a great Friendship. Im a true believer in things happen for a reason,Age is just a Number afterall. =0)

Exactly. I think you hit the nail on the head with "Different Places in Life"

their energy is attractive, and it is not always necessary to be in the same place in life....whatever that is exactly, in order to date or be friends

I think maturity level and whether u are looking for the same things and emotional/personality compatibility are the most important things irrespective of age

not that age isn't important, it is, but it is only one thing about a person

I think that being at the same place in life is relatively important when it comes to dating. For example, I'd never date a much older man. I have many years of working left to do and he could be close to retirement. That wouldn't work very well. And too much younger, he may still be partying all the time and not worrying about any kind of real responsibility. That wouldn't work well either.

those are good points and things I have also considered. I also am careful with men who specifically say they want to start a family - even if they are older because I cannot have children.....

it's kinda odd to me though, because "back in the day" when people met through family, friends, work & school - they would meet, fall in love etc first ...and then work through differences like having/not having children

so I still hold on , to some extent , to that old romantic notion that "love is enough"

another reason...

I had a man dump me a few years ago with that "we aren't in the same place " excuse - turned out he simply met someone else closer to home - the excuse he gave had nothing to do with anything - just made up BS

so ya, I have a grain of salt mentality at this point
