Behavior modification is not easy at all and this is coming from someone who grappled with PTSD and won. You cannot fight a three front war and expect to win. Single out the worst behavior and concentrate on that first. Counseling will help greatly. You need to find someone who knows how to deal with addictive behaviors. Sometimes addictions are covering up something. It is rare when a person is not a classic addict and it sounds like you re in that category. Chances are you have been traumatized years ago and that is surfacing in these behaviors. When I was able to identify my triggers I was able to finally break free.
The worst problems are the ones we don't see. |
