Watched the game. It was one of the best soccer games I have ever seen. What a show! Congrats to the winners and losers. Womens soccer has proved it can be a major sport.

Yeah it was a GREAT game. The US looked as dominant a force as I have
seen in the first 30 minutes especially. But in the end they could
not convert on goal scoring chances and their impatience on defense
also hurt them badly. They were just a bit short of their best game.

Conversely, Japan absolutely made the most of their limited chances
and kept the score close with their tenacious defense.

So appropriate that Sawa scored to take the game to penalty kicks.

Congratulations to Japan for an outstanding tournament win. They
are certainly worthy champions. And the US can be proud of their
tournament performance as well.

Very fine soccer these days from the women!
