i include the hunger for money and power into thecategory of negative aspects of human nature davinci and you're completely right, it doesn't make any sense at all. the crazy part to me is that when i talk to people about the subject of human nature they seem to think that the negative aspects of it are ok to act upon just because it is part of human nature completely disregarding the fact that it is wrong.

anoasis:i don't think you are naive at all but have you ever tried to convince someone that hated someone just because they were different that there was a better way.....it's very hard to do

"it's very hard to do" meaning that most of the time they are not open to it

the only way for global peace is to just nuke the whole world

and kill every living thing

not a good solution

You're right King, it is very difficult but I have found it is not impossible to change peoples minds.

Lots of people are just afraid of things that are foreign to them. Racism, homophobia, religious intolerence...all from fear. But they can be conquered, people's minds can be opened and tolerence achieved. It's just that is can be a very slow and frustrating process.

Sometimes everyone gets discouraged.

But if you look at our own country I believe that, even though there is always room for improvement, there have definitely been concrete measurable changes for a more peaceful co-existance and equality. Anyone can buy any property they can afford, enter any public building, live with whomever they choose, etc. This was not the case a generation or 2 ago.
