I was wondering what a good size for a wallpaper is. I made my own and it is 1.7 mg and i have noticed that when i move my task bar that the graphic glitches a little bit for a second or so trying to catch up.

oh if you mean megs it should be around t1 to 2 megs

use bitmap aka the paint prog to make the bitmnap images to make smaller sized ones but not as good quality

ok mines under 2. i was just curious cause when i move my taskbar it glitches a second or so before refresh.. my vid card seams to work fine <runs wow like a gem)

use a jpg compressor.
You should be able to get it down below 300 kb if it's a jpg without a noticeable loss in quality. I've about 200 wallpapers in my collection, with an average quality of about 250-300 kb, and there's no quality problems that didn't originate from the picture itself. And the resolution is 1440x900, which means 1024x768 could have an even smaller average size. I use photoshop to crop and resize and convert. |

also, don't save jpgs with paint, since it really screws them up.
