Topic: Greece Arrests Gaza Bound Boat Captain! | |

I am sure our founding fathers are pleased with this action. How dare anyone peacefully protest an inujustice? How dare they attempt to aid the people in the latest version of a warsaw ghetto? How dare anyone to seek justice? There is no problem with peacefully protesting or giving aid to anyone! But this is neither. The Hamas boat parade is the same thing as helping Al-Qaida get heavy arms for use in killing innocent Americans. That's not humanitarian aid and it's not peaceful protests. It's helping terrorists commit war crimes. There is no justification whatsoever for helping to arm terrorist organizations like Al-Qaida and Hamas to kill innocent civilians. It is inhumane and unjust and misanthropic. It's sick. As we celebrate freedom today and our country's proud heritage of religious tolerance and human rights, let us not promote arms shipments to any group of religious hatred and intolerance like Hamas and Al-Qaida. ![]() ![]() I can understand why you feel ashamed, after all in your other thread you thank people for not serving our country in the military. http://mingle2.com/topic/show/305689 If you are thanking Americans for declining to serve our country then it would be perfectly natural for you to feel ashamed because others choose to actively combat terrorism and defend our freedoms. But not me. I am not ashamed but proud of all those who served our country with dignity and honor. This is an obscenity. You are justifying the murder of thousands of innocent men, women and children in the WTC 911 attacks by saying that they are justified in killing innocent people to protest our lack of their twisted and abhorrent brand of radical Islamic fundamentalism. There is no justification for bus bombings or cafe slaughters or flying hijacked planes into office buildings. Never. Not during wartime. Not because they believe in a different God or different way of life. ![]() No one "deserved" the WTC 911 attacks. ![]() ![]() Dude.. He believes Bush was responsible for 9-11.. He's a truther.. HAHA Why did Bush and Cheneye both refuse to go under oath to the 911 commission? How were the defences over washington powerless to stop the plane that hit the pentagon? Why did building 7 fall down? What were those five danceing Israelis up to? Many many quistions but few doubt it was used as an excuse to invade Iraq and that is realy what shames the victims of 911. Thanks to 911 this country is bankrupt moraly and finacialy I suppose any sane person would seek the truth. so what if the truth is not what you think it is? would you still want to hear the truth then? would you even believe it? or is your hate that much towards the Israelis? ![]() |

Of all the people on the planet one would think they would stand for justice. I hate that we pay them 3 billion or so a year and that ths country has to borrow that at interest. I hate that in graditude they spy on our country. I know many Israelis also hate what is going on in Gaza. Only a rube can defend this country financeing that country while our own people suffer. |

Bestin.... your 3 billion figure didn't seem accurate to me. Cheers!
-Between 1949 and 1998, the U.S. gave to Israel, with a self-declared population of 5.8 million people, more foreign aid than it gave to all of the countries of sub-Saharan Africa, all of the countries of Latin America, and all of the countries of the Caribbean combined – with a total population of 1,054,000,000 people. -1997- Israel received $3 billion from the foreign aid budget, at least $525 million from other U.S. budgets, and $2 billion in federal loan guarantees. So the 1997 total of U.S. grants and loan guarantees to Israel was $5.5 billion. That’s $15,068,493 per day, 365 days a year.None of these figures include the private donations by Americans to Israeli charities, which initially constituted about one quarter of Israel’s budget, and today approach $1 billion annually. In addition to the negative effect of these donations on the U.S. balance of payments, the donors also deduct them from their U.S. income taxes, creating another large drain on the U.S. treasury. - the nearly $14,630 every one of 5.8 million Israelis had received from the U.S. government by October 31, 1997, cost American taxpayers $23,241 per Israeli. That’s $116,205 for every Israeli family of five. -If you add its foreign aid grants and loans, plus the approximate totals of grants to Israel from other parts of the U.S. federal budget, Israel has received since 1949 a grand total of $84.8 billion, excluding the $10 billion in U.S. government loan guarantees it has drawn to date. |

![]() If you add up all the aid for 50 years.... To put this in perspective if you take the 84.5 billion and average it over 50 years then you get 84.5/50 = 1.69 Billion per year on the average (which is about half of the number originally quoted). Then compare this $1.69 B versus the 2011 (FY 2012) Intl Affairs budget of $47 Billion http://www.state.gov/s/d/rm/rls/fs/2011/156553.htm 1.69/47 = 3.6% So the aid you are complaining about it 3.6% of our US annual International Affairs Budget and less than 0.05% of the 3729 billion (3.729 trillion) US 2012 overall budget. So it is basically pretty small in terms of relative spending. ![]() So yeah - the $3 Billion number is not accurate alright. And the $84.5 is the sum for 50 years leads to $1.69 Billion per year on the average. Less than 3.6% of our annual Intl Affairs Budget. ![]() |

All the wars? Oh you mean like in the 80's and 90's when they asked us for help because a hostile mad man was trying to take over the entire Middle East? |

And the $84.5 is the sum for 50 years leads to $1.69 Billion per year on the average. Less than 3.6% of our annual Intl Affairs Budget. ![]() Hahaha Spin doctor! ![]() Side note: This estimate of total U.S. direct aid to Israel updates the estimate given in the July 2006 issue of the Washington Report on Middle East Affairs. It is an estimate because arriving at an exact figure is not possible, since parts of U.S. aid to Israel are a) buried in the budgets of various U.S. agencies, mostly that of the Defense Department (DOD), or b) in a form not easily quantifiable, such as the early disbursement of aid, giving Israel a direct benefit in interest income and the U.S. Treasury a corresponding loss. Given these caveats, our current estimate of cumulative total direct aid to Israel is $113.8554 billion. It must be emphasized that this analysis is a conservative, defensible accounting of U.S. direct aid to Israel, NOT of Israel’s cost to the U.S. or the American taxpayer, nor of the benefits to Israel of U.S. aid. The distinction is important, because the indirect or consequential costs suffered by the U.S. as a result of its blind support for Israel exceed by many times the substantial amount of direct aid to Israel. (See, for example, the late Thomas R. Stauffer’s article in the June 2003 Washington Report, “The Costs to American Taxpayers of the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict: $3 Trillion.”) |

it's still less than 3.6% of our annual INtl Affairs budget.
Nice try though. ![]() |
