well personally I agree with my father that criminals shouldnt get healthcare unless it is life threatening. If its just comfort issues then too bad. Thats part of the punishment for breaking the law.
I agree wholeheartedly with your father. (I await the bleeding heart backlash)

If you call common decency to a fellow human being a "bleeding heart" that pretty much says a lot about your heart.

Here's hoping you don't end up in jail someday. It does happen to innocent people too. But now I'm having doubts that you are innocent...

You just haven't been caught yet.smokin

Why is it common decency? Lots of people outside of jail don't have healthcare, why should prisoners get better than them?

People outside of Jail at least have a choice to seek solutions. People inside of jail cannot.

The fact that people outside of jail don't have health care is also a big shame. It is not a question who "deserves" decent treatment or healthcare more than someone else. Everyone should have some kind of healthcare.

People outside of Jail also have other rights but criminals lose those rights when they go to jail. Like I said if its life threatening then they should get it. If its something like an elective surgery then it should be a big no.

Well I'm glad you aren't making the laws or rules. You don't have very much compassion.

There is something you may want to know. People who have no compassion are set to learn it the hard way eventually.

There are a lot of people in jail for smoking pot. Pot is now practically legal and it is less harmless than most prescription drugs.

Have you seen the advertisements on television of lawyers suing drug companies because of some drug that killed people or caused birth defects?

He is hoping for 3yrs in jail so he can qualify for SS.

Robbery is usually a lot longer then that. They also goto prison, not jail.

It depends a lot on the crime itself. If it's armed or unarmed or strongarm.

I have several people that I have arrested for Strong Arm Robbery, and that even carries more then three years. Thats when someone steals from another person and uses force(without a weapon) to retain the merchandise or items.

Its no lack of compassion when people can go commit a crime to get healthcare. Its not a lack of compassion for thinking tax payers shouldn't pay for inmates to get elective surgeries. If its non life threatening then they can get it after they get out or find their own way to pay for not on the tax payers dollar.
