Yeah, that's the common problem on this site. No locals.

In the end, all you need is the one right person, so it really doesn't matter if there are 5 locals or 2.

But remember, there are millions of internet users. Keep here on mingle and one day a user may join that will surprise you.

Trust me, it's happened to me a few times before, with magnificent results.

So, keep your chin up. Look everywhere. never loose hope. Give everyone a chance. And we may be hearing those wedding bells yet winking

To whoever found love online, it probably ain't real. Too many ppl lie and play mind games online, as well as real life. Everyone i met online, was a player.

I have had one good experience on another site meeting someone online, so I don't write off the possibility entirely.

I do like the forums here which is the only reason I keep signing on from time to time... Some cool peeps here

That's a rather negative notion.

A lot of people are happily married because of online dating sites.

I know there are plenty of players and attension seekers on the net. But then you get the genuine.

I know that I am a genuine person, so I must be proof that some people are real.

Sorry to hear of your bad experiences. I find there is one genuine person to every 4000 people, so keep looking and stay here on mingle forums, you will surely come accross someone sooner or later! happy flowerforyou

The best gf I ever had, I met on a dating site. And she only lived about 20 minutes away. She was the most intelligent and most creative person I've ever known. She even did the covers for my first two books. Unfortunately she had a lot of other issues, and we've been on and off for the past 11 years, with no indication it will ever be more than a yo-yo scenario.

The other 8 people I met from dating sites were just disasters -- the arsonist, the phony bank teller, the fake kidnap victim, the lazy newspaper columnist, etc.

While I'd agree with your premise that "it probably ain't real," it hasn't been any more real in real life, either. For me, anyway. For me it's less about where you find them than it is about there ain't nothing out there worth being found.

Maybe you ought to lower your expectations a notch or two then Lex  . And start from the heart instead of the brain
flowerforyou . There are alot of people that don't have the smarts that you seem to be looking for; but their hearts are as pure as lilywhite happy .
