Jesus called you home that day
Without a chance to say goodbye
God said you had to go away
And those left behind would cry

But you are not in pain anymore
To see you again, we must wait
All those who knew you before
Will meet you again at Heaven's gate

The sorrow we now feel in our hearts
Will someday be replaced by smiles
Someday we will no longer be apart
Love will close those empty miles

Though it may seem that you are gone
We were never this close in life
You live in the hearts of your children
You live on in the soul of your wife

You were too young to die
Too innocent to feel that pain
Only heaven benefits
Because you it has now gained

The pain we feel will hurt a little less
With each passing day
And your strength and love we won't forget
You have changed us in every way

Your love is still alive in us
Because over the years it grew
Our grief is filled with happiness
