Topic: Slavery and religion. | |
---|---|
When slaves were brought from Africa they were taken from their homes by force, some of their family members were slaughtered, villages were raided. Some black African citizens raided other African villages and captured people and sold them to white traders.
These African people were not Christians then. They had their own beliefs and their own lives and culture. All of this was ripped from them. Blacks of today don't think enough about the plight of their ancestors. They adapted over the generations into the white slave master's culture, and accepted his Christian religion and his way of life. Would they rather be in Africa now? I doubt it very much. Was what happened to their ancestors wrong? Of course it was. Slavery still exists in the world today but it is not talked about openly, and not just black people are slaves. Slavery is the way of the world even today. We agree that it is wrong, but why then did we so easily accept it in our new country as a normal and acceptable way of life? If you read the Bible, slavery was well tolerated and common. In winning a battle, instead of beheading the enemy, they would show mercy and take them as slaves. This was a common way of life. Now I will tell you why. The advanced beings of the Galaxy who created and manipulated the primitive humans of this earth come from a society where war and slavery is a way of life! These are the beings we lowly humans worship as our Gods and creators. Lucifer was one of these creators. There were others. They all still compete in this world for control over the slave population of humans who worship them as Gods. Jehovah, was probably just another name for one of these creators. Humans were slaves. They were told to obey OR ELSE!! Or else what you might ask. The answer to that is in the Bible. To disobey your Lord God and Creator is a sin. The wages of sin is death. Slaves who disobey could be killed without thought. Dare question or disobey your master, and you die. This is the reason mankind grovels on his knees before his false gods. He has been at their mercy since civilization began. Lucifer is worshiped as the light bearer and the creator of humans on this earth. That is the secret of the secret societies. |

Nice mythos, lady. What about this:
If I get someone else to do menial, boring, dangerous jobs for me, then I don't have to do them. Occam's razor. |

Jeanniebean,
With the exception of your last line, I can see an argument for that. I did debate that myself for some time. It would explain the Greek gods and some statements in the Bible. But I discarded it as there is evidence that the Universe has a conscious design to it. Most obvious being, why did the Universe begin in the first place? An alien race would not be capable of creating something they exist within. But it does cover a lot of questions. Can't deny that. But I don't believe it answers all the questions. |

To disobey your Lord God and Creator is a sin. The wages of sin is death ........this is death compared to eternal life.not that you will be killed because everyone will die. i dont know why anyone would ever trust lucifer.he is the great deceiver of the world, but im sure you have your reasons, maybe you think you can outsmart him Volent - explain the purpose of you link and what you think it brings to this conversation. You will find much diversity of thought in these forums and often you will see heated discussion and disagreements. You will notice that many people are stuck justifying their own bias for lack or want of futher knowledge and you will find many who are searching, curious, and willing to give new ideas some thought. What you will not find here is tolerance to scams or spam. If you are not willing to put yourself into these discussions then we are not willing to put ourselves into your personal zone. It would be far better to JOIN in the diversity HERE first before inviting those who may be interested, to view your website. |

You seek "All the Answers" but you never list the questions you want answers to. Furthermore, if you can't answer a question with the answer you think covers that question, then the answer you have accepted is an understanding of your short comings in not having the answer. For example: most people who believe in the god of the bible, believe he grants healing or powers of healing to some individuals. What determines who will be healed and who not? Why has there never been a substantiated claim of a severed limb growing back? My guess is that you wont have a satisfactory answer that does not involve having faith in god. But if the answer is actually sufficient, shouldn't it be logical and transparent having empirical evidence and repeatable circumstanses? If there is truth in the answers don't you think they would be obviously true to everyone despite faith in the biblical god? Jenniebean, how do you expain questions about your developing beliefs as they come about? Do you rationalize based only on the information you have gathered thus far? If not, how do you seek for the answers? |

I don't understand your first question about "how do I explain questions about my developing beliefs..." Could you rephrase your questions please? |

I don't understand your first question about "how do I explain questions about my developing beliefs..." Could you rephrase your questions please? Thanks for asking for claification. You have a very elaborate view of how you think the universe functions right down to the role of single cells within a greater body, like human cells. Did you come by all you information from a single source? And when you have determined what infomation is valid does it become a stone tablet through which contain a rigid, inflexible set of morals and values? |

You have a very elaborate view of how you think the universe functions right down to the role of single cells within a greater body, like human cells. No. A great big NO. |

And when you have determined what infomation is valid does it become a stone tablet through which contain a rigid, inflexible set of morals and values?
No. A great big NO. Seconded. This is the beauty of not being tied down by one specific belief system, you are free to make of your life what you want depending on what is best for you then. That can and does change from time to time, and you are free to change with it. There's no strict set of rules saying you have to hold to one thing forever. There is so much freedom just knowing you are able to do this with no fear of spiritual repercussions if you "choose wrong". |

For arguments sake, what if Christians are right? That is why a lot of Christians say, I don't have to worry if I'm wrong. They either are on the right path or it doesn't matter. If Jeannibean is right, it doesn't matter that I'm wrong. |

If not, how do you seek for the answers? All the question that are posed to me. There are hundreds if not thousands of questions. It does explain the Greek God's and their stories. It explains the giants in the Bible and other things. But it doesn't explain some important things like the origin of the universe. among others. I would say aliens would explain about 80% of the questions. |

If Jeannibean is right, it doesn't matter that I'm wrong. Spiritually speaking we don't, because we all go back to God in the end. Now does that mean we should do anything we want because we can? Not quite, there are some things that are better for us than other things, and will lead to a better lived life. So we should bear in mind that while we are free to make of our lives what we want, the choices we make do have consequences in this life. Given that we should choose wisely. Now, if Christians were right, than God in short is a twisted, egomanicial, power hungry monster, torturing all those who don't agree with him. However I don't see God like that at all, and nothing is gonna convince me that He is that way, as it makes no logical sense if you are paying attention. So I'm not too worried about Christians being right, because on that basis they are not. Finally you are right, it doesn't matter if you're wrong. But that being said, to go back to what I said about consequences for choices, some beliefs are more spiritually healthy than others, not for only for us as individuals, but also for the world as a whole. Christianity I don't think fits that category of healthy, nor does organized religion as a whole really. You may disagree with that, but that's how I view it, with the fruits it all has bore. |

Um, WOW! I don't even know how to respond to this. All I can say is that I feel very Spiritually fulfilled. Don't see how that is unhealthy. It's unhealthy in the sense that it paints God in not a very positive light. If God is love, than He can't be one that allows torture and damnation at the same time. It doesn't work. To see God like that, is indeed unhealthy spiritually as in a sense you really don't know the true God. You might in part, but not fully. Also from a world view it's very divisive. Since to you, if one doesn't believe as you do, God won't save them. This too is unhealthy, as it separates us from each other when we are all one. Having said that, it may work for you, but you must understand everyone is different and everyone's path is not gonna be the same. Doesn't make any of them bad people or unworthy people as Christianity would tend to believe, just makes them different. Spirituality is not a one size fits all thing. |

I don't think that Christianity is 'wrong.' I think the message is very misunderstood most of the time. I think the religion is misused and abused most of the time.
The indwelling Christ consciousness is not one that starts wars, hates others, etc. If you have that Christ consciousness or spirit of God living within you, then you are 'saved' because you are connected to the God consciousness. It is not about dogma or myth or rules and regulations to abide by. It is about how you feel and the love in your heart. It is not about what church you belong to or what good deeds you do, although if love is in your heart, all your deeds will be good. God means "good." Devil means "evil." If the love is not there, then the joy is not there and the happiness is not there and the faith is not there. If you dwell in hate and fear, then you are not 'saved.' If you are saved, you have been changed and your consciousness has been transformed from a being of darkness and fear to a being of light and love. How about this guy's idea of the quantum crucifixion: I think its very interesting indeed. ![]() http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UCcTNGRYxCg&NR=1 |
