I've always loved his stuff. Was just listening to "Another Day on Earth" and it amazes me how he does so many things so well....and so uniquely. Have you read his book "A Year with Swollen Appendices"? Genius is too shabby a word to describe this man.

No doubt. He completely changed the way I listen to music. He is a renaissance man of the highest order. Yes....I have read his book too. It is fascinating. I'd love to hang out with him one day... He seems way beyond interesting.

Yes, I believe that was originally released as the third record on his "Obscure" label -- of course, now I have it on CD -- !! (I also enjoyed Obscure's "Music from the Penguin Cafe.")

It was interesting to read the story of how that piece occurred, the way he was incapacitated and could not adjust the volume when the sound level became too low to hear properly....it was about the time I first heard that when I also started buying the things he did with Fripp....some of the music he did with Bowie is still right up among my favorites, as old as those are....and where would Talking Heads have been without him?

Yea....and he drew out the equipment configuration of what he used to record it. He used a tape loop, a delay....and an echo. He said the biggest challenge was just trying not to interfere. That diagram....is actually the closest to a musical score for that as possible.......

His work with Bowie....The Heads.....Devo......all that stuff was amazing......
