I have seen a general trend lately.

People say that the government is corrupt. But yet say that the government they support is good.

Does anyone really believe our government will ever change if we keep voting in the same political parties?

Considering about half of the eligible voting base votes. Makes the government askew of what the majority of the people want.

Then in any popularity contest for power you will always have a percentage of corruption.

the biggest problem is people vote through fear. Senior citizens can easily be manipulated far too easily by threatening their social security. Then comes "Poor" voters who as long as the government can convince are poor will vote to protect their free hand outs.

People need to stop voting based on knee jerk reactions. We also need to rid ourselves of the two party system!

I dunno, a lot of people voted in 2008 based on race. I cant count the number of times people voted for Obama because it would be cool to have an African American President or because we haven't had one yet. They voted because of skin color or because he could read a teleprompter perfectly or because of a rockstar image, an not for experience and it doomed us.

Regan could have done a lot worst. I remember the property boom in his years followed with eth property market receding badly too! But also in all fairness he did scare the Iranians! He got our people back. Peanuts on the other hand left him with an Obamaesque mess too. Then along came a spider named Clinton!

he was rated as one of the best, but he was an actor, not a politician... so was it him that was great, or the people pulling the strings?

He was an American that believed in America as a strong and confident country. Much better than a Pres. that runs around apologizing for our country.

I do not believe the 2 main political parties have any real difference between them anymore. The rhetoric is different during campaign speeches, but the actions of both Dems and Rebuplicans in office are leading to the same demise of the USA.

This. This is the entire problem right here.

We are made to think we have a choice, but reality is, we have none at all. No matter who is in office nothing ever changes, and that's by design. This video sums it up best to me:
