Repressed memory is a hypothetical concept used to describe a significant memory, usually of a traumatic nature, that has become unavailable for recall; also called motivated forgetting in which a subject blocks out painful or traumatic times in one's life. They aren't "turned" this way. This piece of information is merely enlightenment on how it will be. This is the future, this is what will eventually happen. Not cause God directed in that area. Just God is informing us of it going to happen.

What does any of this have to do with modern day "witchcraft"?

Nothing. Absolutely nothing.

The accusations and predictions you've posted here from the Bible have absolutely nothing to do with modern day "witchcraft".

Thus the only conclusion we can come to is that these stories have absolutely no merit at all in their prophesies.

We simply don't see the behavior that these prophesies suggest, especially not in the name of 'witchcraft'. On the contrary when we do see these properties displayed they are often being displayed by money-hungry right-wing religious zealots that constantly blaspheme the name of Jesus by using him as a scapegoat to support their own boasting and bigotries.

I would consider it a serious violation of rights, without due and just reasoning( i.e. evidence of abuse, accurate evidence not some believed irrationality)

Do you or have you children in school? have you ever talked to them about whether the schools Phycologists ever pulls them out of class for no reason to have a chat?

I have two children in school and a third one about to go...

they have a number of people evaluate them particularly in preschool

my children have an uncanny ability to discern certain things....psychologists don't get very far with them...the psychologist usually calls me after the fact....

and i receive notices for every evaluation they have, with signature permissions required....I have asked, the only time I heard something disturbing was after my children spent time alone with their father's girlfriend...an error that will never happen again

what is called modern day witchcraft do you believe it is the same as was 2 or 3 thousand years ago.

I do not believe that at all. whichcraft is like a spell on someone. doing harm to someone and they do not understand it.

Miles, psychology and psychiatry took a long time to actually become a science because it grew from the field of philosophy to which the mind and spirit were relegated. That was sort of the sociopolitical contract between the Church and the ruling power. The rulers got the bodies and the mind and soul were relegated to regions of mysticism - because who could possibly understand the invisible workings of the mind and soul but some mystical creative force?

That is not meant to be offensive, it is fact - just try to imagine that mind and body are not separate parts the whole they are the whole, wholly integrated and in constant communication with both internal and external effects.

Both the fields of psychology and psychiatry deal with brain functions wherein all knowledge, memory, emotions, and cognition take place as well as being the regulator for the senses through which the external world is experienced.

Psychology is still a new part of medical science but the field has come a long way. In the early days there was no regulation, oversight, or ethical norms for doing research. Some the human experiments that were preformed would NEVER be allowed today. In fact it’s only more recently that to become a practicing (research) psychologist requires a doctorate degree. Grant funded Research universities will not even higher professors of psychology without that level of education.

Like all fields of science, psychology has its share of charlatans and there are internal disagreements within the profession as well. One of those disagreements has been over what you call RMT or Recovered Memory Therapy. It actually began in the early to mid decades of the 1900’s when multiple personalities disorder were seemingly uncovered. We actually refer to similar types of cases as dissociative identity disorder. Since the patient tended to regress naturally (from personality to personality) it was thought that the cause of some psychological problems might be found in the persons past. So regression experiments were underway.

When something is new and untried there is not a right way until it is proven wrong. RMT, the way YOU remember it as in the headlines and a bad thing, is no longer what it was. Licensed psychologists must conform to APA standards which include ethical forms of consent AND their own set of legal paradigms which allow them to be sued just like any other doctor.

Currently, a form of regression therapy is practiced but it is done ethically, and carefully, and it is non-invasive, meaning it is allowed to be spontaneous in a session and not guided. Much of the research and the current opinion steers psychologists away from the practice altogether. It can and has been used to help people remember certain pieces of information for trials – but that information is not generally accepted without outside, independent substantiation.

About hypnosis; it is not the parlor game that people think. It can be a valuable tool, I knew a woman who was a severe diabetic and delivered two children by C-section with no anesthetic and only the use of self-hypnosis. She practiced it with a psychologist for many months, and with her second child she took no pain medication after the baby was born.

Also think of those people who stick needles through their lips, fingers, or arms – they are using self-hypnosis. Hypnosis however, is a better tool for self-use than for anything else because no other person can use it on you without your awareness. It is not a drug and it is not useful unless the patient is a totally willing participant.

That being said, there is a some opinion that we can be influenced by what people say, even in our sleep which is why so many surgeons now have your choice of piped in music and do not allow their staff to tell jokes or say anything disrespectful while you are under anesthetic.

I do not always agree with the research or the opinions of the APA or other respected psychologists however, they are an extremely ethical and caring group of professionals who, like other professions, have their share of rogues and charlatans.
