Considering how large the circumference of the earth is not much. Now Japan having the east side of their island sink two feet?

OUCH!

The quake in 2004 that caused the tsunami shifted the axis too. It was a 9.0 quake......

I heard something about Seasonal changes that would be seen, but not for 100yrs or more..

Dict8 - Wasn't this quake upgraded to 9.0 in the last day or so.?

I'm not sure. Initial data said it was a 7.9. That was upgraded to an 8.9 later. That makes it, like....one of the 5 biggest quakes on record. I haven't heard anything about that changing.....but it's possible. No doubt though....it was a massive quake.

I'm more worried about the nuclear power plants. If they can't get them under control...that's gonna be trouble for a lot of people for a long long time...Yikes!
