Another Dime in the Bucket
He said he met her online, she was looking pretty fine He couldn’t wait to see her face. The only thing between them was about a thousand miles How could he get to her place. He called her every night and text her every morning Put a smile on her face, but she knew better. . . .yay she knew better She fell for all his stories he told her every day She can’t believe how much he trusted her so. . She thought he was sincere till she had another beer And said I’ve heard this all before He’s just another dime in the bucket Another coin for her jar She tries to meet a man who will love her like she can But they all just live so far. Just another dime in the bucket Another coin for her jar Will she find another one or is this just how it’s done she been trying way too hard. by Simone Demidova. |

as much of a contradiction in terms as the phrase suggest, (trying too hard) i have come to understand it's validity...sadly

Another moment to remind me i'm dead. Laying here tossed aside, living in this jar. All because she couldn't trust a man who lived afar. Just a chance was all I wanted ,to see you face to face. Yet here I lay, locked away, buried in your jar to stay. Your poem is very true, And I felt the need to write this, to remind you. SOME MEN,will be real, and time and space won't have this value. |
