Skeptic On Love
(9-2000)

In the silence I sit and murmur to myself

This must be wonderful, It must be grand

As I envy a couple walking

Hand and hand

Twisted fate hath sent me here

To die alone and wallow with fear

When shall love light my heart

When my mind has strayed

Or when death do we part

The organ breathes with blood

Yet this is what symbolizes love

Hate a dagger and peace a dove

Stranger still is how we sleep

Wrapped in blankets we dream

And these dreams do seep

Into our minds how life should be

Princesses, ponies, and puppies of three

Yet what of the nightmares

What terrors await us when we crawl into bed

Screaming from hell and into your head

But these are not the visions of lovers

Or children tucked safely under woolen covers

Only for the skeptics, the sinners, and others

Do these dreams blacken dreadfully

Once it was thought that love was a sin

But now the loveless seldom do win

Those who do not have one to have and to hold

Must be rejected poor souls who wind up tired and old

A carriage passes me and I turn my head

A bride and a groom blushing red

Two doves above tear at my heart

As I sit alone with no where to start

This must be wonderful, It must be grand

To have someone to sit and hold my hand

Ahh, now I feel better that you approve of my own dalliances! You are a creative one yourself. Very eloquent and meaningful with a thought-provoking series of imagery that transitions clearly and concisely into the next.

"A carriage passes me and I turn my head

A bride and a groom blushing red

Two doves above tear at my heart

As I sit alone with no where to start"

^^^by far my favorite bit. I don't think anyone can honestly say they haven't felt that exact loneliness at some point.

Hey Thanks a lot, I'm glad you joined. Its a wonderful thing when people can open their brain and spill it out on paper for everyone to read. Plus its so therapeutic!

The Loving Dead

These are the days that will never last
This is the space we found much too vast
Those are the hearts that had fallen too fast
The voodoo, the magic, the spell that was cast

I am the one, the one you wondered about
You are the light, the star that faded out
She was the angel, the reason echos shout
He was the devil, the demon causing doubt

Up rose the tides that took you away
Down through the valley, in darkness he'll stay
Over the time, twas love they will say
Under the ashes, the skeletons lay
