quote]The reference to Mad Max as the "end-game" was the stupidity I was referring to. Lax laws and "taking instead of earning" are liberal ideals, not conservative What "lax laws" would you be referring to? I thought you people were anti-regulation, or am I stereotyping?;... and the opposite of conditions in Hong Kong. Are you saying that hong Kong is characterized by tough laws governing the way business is done in Hong Kong.
Oddly, I think that the dominating of Hong Kong by The Republic of China may be what will ultimately save Hong Kong from degrading into a Mad Maxx scenerio. It would appear you are unaware of the lobbying efforts and donations of the Trial Lawyers Association and what they represent. Perhaps you should also check the political affiliations of the members of the TLA, what party they represent and strongly support, and the effect they have had on the ability for a criminal to be set free, hence, "lax laws". Your comment about "anti regulation" is meaningless, out of context, and appears to be some attempt to belittle a position you do not understand. Hong Kong has strong anti-crime laws and enforcement as I witnessed when I was there. I am always amazed at how often liberals use the insulting term "you people" as if an elitist attitude shows some form of education or understanding. I am not a Republican. Comparing the ideals of Republicans to Max Max is crass offensiveness but I am sure you would be unaware of that view. The comparison to the concept of stupidity is accurate by any honest evaluation of the meaning of the words. |

Most of the trial lawyers that I am acquainted with tend do be liberal, especially the ACLU lawyers. I think there's a good reason for that, and I am in full accord. Your comment about "anti regulation" is meaningless, out of context, and appears to be some attempt to belittle a position you do not understand. Hong Kong has strong anti-crime laws and enforcement as I witnessed when I was there. I guess you are wanting to talk about criminal law, rather than regulation. You people don't seem to want any laws or regulation that pertains to how people do business. Hong Kong would probably need strong criminal laws more than other places. My understanding is that, where income inequality goes up, criminal activity tends to rise with it. I am always amazed at how often liberals use the insulting term "you people" as if an elitist attitude shows some form of education or understanding. Well, in my mind the term"you people" distinguishes you people on the right from "us people " on the left. Take offense if you want. It works for me. You are welcome to use the phrase, too, if you want. I won't be offended.I am not a Republican. I don't care.Comparing the ideals of Republicans to Max Max is crass offensiveness but I am sure you would be unaware of that view. It is my opinion that an a economy based on purely free-market principals will eventually degrade to Zimbabwe with technology. The comparison to the concept of stupidity is accurate by any honest evaluation of the meaning of the words. You people are entitled to your opinions.

Hmmmm. You don't know much about Hong Kong but try to appear that you do. Their highly effective criminal justice system is British in nature. You think the Chinese system will be an improvement. You don't realize the connection with the lawyers you support and the movement of the criminal world towards Mad Max. That's actually funny. You try to accuse others of being crassly offensive while being crassly offensive. I guess one couldn't expect much else. You make broad predictions with no logic or evidence or history to back it up. Zimbabwe? Please research "Revolving door policy" as practiced by your friends at the TLA that you support. The liberal laws designed to make lawyers money are what allows gang wars in the major US cities and as viewed in the movie "Mad Max". |

Too bad a lot of this stuff was bi-partisan. For example, FDR and the republicans passed legislation banning banks from gambling with depositors money and created the FDIC, and it was both Democrats and Republicans who changed that law in 1999! You arn't supposed to bust their balderdash bubbles... They will demand 'proof' which they will not accept unless it comes from a liberal source. |
