Egypt is on fire and the flames may soon spread to Jordan and even Saudi Arabia.

The situation on the streets of Cairo is confusing, but so too is the message coming out of the Obama White House. The White House appears to be leaving Hosni Mubarak, an ally for three decades and lynchpin of Mideast stability, twisting slowly in the wind. And worse, it appears to be open to allowing the Muslim Brotherhood play a key role in a "reformed" Egyptian government, as long as the organization renounces violence and supports democracy.

If the bHo White House really believes this is possible, it is even more hopelessly incompetent than we imagined!

Many people have been warning about the Muslim Brotherhood since 9/11. The Brotherhood is the godfather organization for jihad in the Middle East (and, for that matter, in the U.S. where it operates through the Muslim Student Association and other fronts). Its Palestinian branch, Hamas, is a terrorist organization whose charter calls for the annihilation of Israel. Osama bin Laden was a graduate of the Brotherhood; so was the mastermind of 9/11, Sheik Khalid Mohammed. It opposes the Egyptian-Israeli agreement of 1979, without which Israel would be under the gun as it was in the first few years of its existence and will be again if the Brotherhood takes over.

In suggesting that the Muslim Brotherhood can be a democratic partner in Egypt, the Obama White House has outdone even the Carter administration's destabilization of the Shah of Iran in 1979 and its welcoming of the theocratic fascist Khoumeni as a "saint."

During the present crisis, the Freedom Center [ www.FrontPageMag.com ]has been contacted by talk radio and cable news shows for its take on the Egyptian situation because we, more than any other organization, have documented the "Unholy Alliance" between the Left and Radical Islam. From the Bolshevik Revolution, through Mao and the Ayatollah Khoumeni, the left has always seen figures who turned out to be monsters as "reformers."

Robert Spencer has noted in daily posts on the website Jihad Watch and in his alarming pamphlet, Obama and Islam, the dangers present in Barack Obama's "outreach" to the Muslim world, from his speech in Cairo itself to his overtures to the Muslim Brotherhood today. Now the dangers in those misguided and incoherent policies have reached critical mass, threatening two key U.S. allies - Egypt and Israel - and putting the fate of the region at risk, while also strengthening the hand of the Revolutionary Guard in Iran.

We cannot determine how the present chaos in Egypt will end. But we can educate America about what is at stake

Well, who knows how the situation in Egypt will turn out.

I have read reports on the Muslim Brotherhood from the BBC, which stated how the organisation is mis-viewed. The Muslim Brotherhood, while conservative, values peace and moderation, they are known for their charitable works. (Though they are admitedly (rightly?) critical of the West)

It is not even clear if the Muslim Brotherhood will even win should Egypt become a democracy.

For 30 years the Egyptians have been under the military and autocratic rule of Mubarak. The PEOPLE want change to their country.

Whatever happens I for one hope the people of Egypt are successful in their bid to set up a democratic government which values their freedom of speech and recognises their human values.

Democracy is what the Egyptian people want.

Afterall, democracy is a right.

A right which should be available to all humans regardless of race and faith.

Is it not?

All these political and international 'analysis' and pundits... This will happen, that will happen etc... I hear much about how the US will be impacted and how Israel will be impacted... stuffed shirts every one.

People of Egypt have the same right to pursuit of happiness as do I... Else my constitution is but a rag...

Matters not WHO among those people governs... Matters only that the People of Egypt have (imho) the same rights as do I... To govern their country as THEY see fit (and my interests mean not a thing).

As far as strengthing the Iranian Revolutionary Guard... Pisswater... Iran is ruled by a diametrically opposed sect of Islam when compared to the sect that is the religious guidance of the Islamic Brotherhood.

This would be like puting an Irish Protestant in the same room as a Catholic... and giving them both guns.
